Secular journalism and religious persons do not have along history of looking to each other for guidance and inspiration. Traditionally, there has been less than high respect for each other’s gods.
So far, journalists covering the hellish scenes in Haiti have done a good job of showing the degree to which religion — or religions — color life in that haunted, yet intensely spiritual nation.
