Patrick Wrokpoh

Liberian journalist Patrick Wrokpoh is deceased.  He was just 38 years of age.  Wrokpoh died on June 24, 2011, after a brief illness, less than two weeks after presenting his paper "Religion and Armed Conflict" at our West Africa regional conference in Accra, Ghana. The cause of death is unclear.  Wrokpoh's untimely death shocked and devastated the media community in Liberia.

Wrokpoh had practiced journalism for 13 years, working with The Inquirer Newspaper of Liberia as an Associate Editor. He was also the Liberian correspondent of the Chinese News Agency (XINHUA) and ChinAfrica Magazine.

In 2008, he became the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) "Best Development Reporting Award", He has also worked briefly for Agency France Press [AFP and African News Dimension (AND)].
