Caroline Comport

Caroline Comport served as The Media Project’s General Manager through 2015 and directed journalism education efforts, including founding the Coaching & Leadership Fellowship.


Comport is an award winning broadcast journalist with experience writing, field producing, and launching television news programs from the ground up. Her years with Tribune Broadcasting included assignments on both coasts – from television station KTLA in Los Angeles to the company’s Washington News Bureau.

Comport is the winner of three Emmy Awards for her work on the coverage of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, the 1993 Southern California Wildfires, and the KTLA Morning News.  

In 2006 she ventured into teaching journalism at the university level and later earned a Master's degree in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University. After completing her coursework at Georgetown, Comport was inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa, The National Honor Society for Religious Studies and Theology. She has a special interest in the study of narrative.
