Andrei Zolotov, Jr.

Zolotov serves as the Editor of Russia Profile, which he founded in 2003 as an analytical online and print magazine in English to cover Russian trends.

That same year Zolotov earned the title of Deputy Director of RIA Novosti’s Foreign Language Service, contributing to the modernization of the agency’s foreign language websites. He regularly writes comments and features for the agency and hosts the video talk show “Russian Angle” on RIA Novosti’s English-language website.

Prior to developing Russia Profile, Zolotov covered politics, media, and religion for The Moscow Times. Zolotov graduated from Moscow State University’s School of Journalism. He began his career as a translator and fixer at the Moscow bureau of The Christian Science Monitor. Zolotov’s honors include a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University (2008-2009), and a Carnegie Media Fellowship at Duke University (1999).
